Anonymous From this thread it appears a fix works in Power Query -> https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Expression-Error-The-key-didn-t-match-any-rows-in-the-table/td-p/155986

you can make this error occur if you:
- connect to a database
- select any table and load it
- click home - edit queries
- click source under applied steps
- click advanced options in the popup
- type SQL statement e.g. select * from [yourtablename]
- click ok
- click close and apply
- You now see the error above (Expression.Error: The key didn't match any rows in the table)
Solution
- click home - edit queries
- under applied steps, remove navigation
- click close and apply
- The error is fixed"

I have seen this thread but for some reason there is no option to insert an SQL statement on the source, possibly because it is an Impala source?

Hi Anonymous ,
Yes, Impala source still not supports a SQL Query.
