Error during Power BI sign-up process – Correlation ID: 72d64198-9911-42e9-bf8c-03e326a68787

Dear Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue while attempting to sign up for Power BI. Here are the steps I followed:

  1. Navigated to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-bi/getting-started-with-power-bi and clicked on the "Try for free" button.

  2. Was redirected to https://app.powerbi.com/singleSignOn?en=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.powerbi.com%2F%3FnoSignUpCheck%3D1
  3. Entered my email address and clicked "Submit"

Upon submission, I received the following error message:

"Sorry, that didn't work. You can try refreshing the page to solve the problem. You can also wait a few minutes and try again. Correlation ID: 72d64198-9911-42e9-bf8c-03e326a68787"

I have attempted refreshing the page and waiting before trying again, but the issue persists.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

  • Hi Vaako , thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

If the above steps didn’t work for you, then the best next step is to report this issue to Microsoft Support, as it may be a bug or a backend issue. You can provide them with all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, which will help them understand the issue better and provide a resolution. They might be able to provide a solution that isn't immediately obvious.

Hi Vaako, thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

    Please try the following:

    1. Make sure you're using a work or school email, not a personal email.
    2. clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart your browser.
    3. Try using another browser
    4. Visit Microsoft Service Health to see if Power BI is experiencing an outage.
    5. Make sure you are using this Direct URL: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-bi/getting-started-with-power-bi
    6. Try signing up again in private window.

If this helps, please consider marking it 'Accept as Solution' so others with similar queries may find it more easily. If not, please share the details.
    Thank you.

  • We are seeing this across a number of different accounts, but not all.  It tries to perform a redirection when accessing the main app.powerbi.com page and then at sign up presents a Correlation ID error.  This is with private windows and after restarts and all steps above.  This only appears to be some users, not all, they are blocked for signing up to powerbi by this eorr.

  • Hi,

I tried all the above suggestions but keep getting the saem error message.

    Any other solutions?

    Thanks
