I got this error:
This basically asks me to install the Npgsql, but I don't know if I do have to do it on the machine that has the Power BI Data Gateway or on the machine that has the Database.
I have the following scenarios: a server with non-exposed PostgreSQL Database, that is only able to make localhost connection or with SSH. I Have an intermadiate device such as Windows where I have the Power BI Data Gateway installed, so, I am making SSH connection between the Windows and the server which has the database, by forwarding the database port (25432) from there to my Windows machine, so in the Power BI Service I try to connect into this database by using the localhost:25432. Is there something wrong? Where (Which machine) Do I have to install this Npgsql? Is it really needed?
PS: In Power BI Desktop at the same Windows which has the Data Gateway, the connection works
Yes you will need to install the Npgsql to connect to PostGreSQL
Also I would use the computer name or IP addres of your PostGreSQL database when creating the connection in the Data Gateway. I would also test this with Power BI Desktop to make sure it all works as expected.
