Error: Encountered user gateway exception when refreshing Dataflows

Hi

I created 1 dataflow containing 1 entity copying the query from Power Desktop. When refreshing the dataflow I get the following message. The query refreshes properly on PowerBI desktop.

Error: Encountered user gateway exception: 'GatewayPipelineErrorCode=DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_SpooledOperationMissing  ErrorShortName=GatewayClientErrorResponseException[GatewayId=2650167]/UnknownSpooledOperationIdException  ExceptionErrorShortName=GatewayClientErrorResponseException[GatewayId=2650167]'.. RootActivityId = 44e25ce5-2e5a-443c-9710-c3ad76a0aca0.Param1 = GatewayPipelineErrorCode=DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_SpooledOperationMissing  ErrorShortName=GatewayClientErrorResponseException[GatewayId=2650167]/UnknownSpooledOperationIdException  ExceptionErrorShortName=GatewayClientErrorResponseException[GatewayId=2650167] Request ID: bc061847-09be-ca3c-2744-678d174b934a.

Best regards

Hi, @Maikeru

I have some questions:

1. What data sources are you using? On-premise or cloud data sources?

2. Are you an admin of the gateway you want to use?

3. Do you have access to use the gateway?

I have tested with SQL Server on my side. It works properly. I am the admin of SQL Server and the gateway. Both of them are installed on-premises. To create a dataflow using a gateway, the user must be the Enterprise Gateway’s administrator, or the administrator must have shared the datasource they are planning to use with the user.

For further information, you may refer the document .

Best Regards

Allan

Thank you, Allan @v-alq-msft.

Yes I am admin of the gateway. After the first attempt, I relaunched the refresh and it work that time.

I suspect that during the first attempt there might have been some internal maintenance operation running on the database.

Best regards

Michael
