Error 500 when trying to publish Google Analytics reports to PowerBI Service

Hello,

I am using the Google Analytics Connector in PowerBI Desktop (see here https://picnicerror.net/data/google-analytics-4-connector-now-available-for-power-bi-2023-06-28/). The connector works and I can select the data that I want for my dashboards, but when I try to publish these dashboards to PowerBI Service, I get the Internal Server error (500).

Also, when I try to manually upload the .pbix file to PowerBI Service i get the following error:

  • Error de back-end de Power BI PremiumM Engine error: 'Microsoft.Data.Mashup; We cannot generate a query for the given data source reference. Failure reason: We don't support the option 'Implementation'. Parameter name: Implementation.'.

Can someone help with this issue please?, when I tried to remove the "Implementation" in advanced queries, i deleted the entire data origin.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi, @ralarcon

I can suggest a few troubleshooting steps that may help:

  • 1. Check that you have the latest version of PowerBI Desktop installed, as well as any necessary updates for the Google Analytics Connector.
  • 2. Make sure that your Google Analytics account is properly linked and authorized with PowerBI Desktop.
  • 3. Double-check that you have selected the correct data source and that your queries are properly formatted.
  • 4. Try exporting your dashboard as a .pbix file and then importing it into PowerBI Service, rather than publishing directly from PowerBI Desktop.
