Hi all,
my company has several possible domains. Is it possible to refresh Power BI report using gateway installed on different domain than SQL database? I tried to set up scheduled refresh receiving "failed to impersonate" error.
Is only solution for to use Basic Authentication?

Yupsies. Your gateway needs to be "registered" to a user in the same domain as your tenant. Hilarious consequences as you observed. Endless fun in rapidly changing companies with newly acquired domains due to mergers etc.
HI @jesse_james,
As lbendlin said, your gateway required to install in the same domain as your account hosted. It is impossible to direct access gateway who installed on other domains.
BTW, if your data source is hosted on other domains. You can install gateway client on current domain devices and configure the proxy to use gateway to access that external datasource.
Configure proxy settings for the on-premises data gateway
