Enterprise Gateway Recover Key Where can you keep it for safe keeping?

I was wondering what the best process was for looking after the Gateway recovery key? I was thinking about the Azure Key vault? Has any one got any best practices for this. if you rely on someone to simply look after it, that recovery key is going to dissapear pretty quickly

Hi @DebbieE,

Azure Key Vault would do. We use a password manager for this, we also store our service accounts for the gateway data sources there. Any password manager of your choice would fit, the ones I use and know most are LastPass, 1Password, Password Manager Pro.

Key is then to have a vault that you can share with your team of users/admins to manage of course, otherwise they would be stuck there again 🙂

Hi @DebbieE ,

I usually store accounts and passwords in excel then back up the file both locally and in the cloud.

Best Regards,

Jay

I would NEVER store passwords in excel. Use an app or service like LastPass that has strong encryption and security in mind.

excel is awesome for finances. It is not designed for password management.
