Enabling Generally Available Copilot Only

Hi Anonymous - As of now, limiting the access to Copilot features in Power BI or other Fabric-related experiences specifically can only be managed through the control of access to Fabric Items. By controlling which Active Directory (AD) groups can create and access Fabric Items, you can indirectly manage which users can interact with Copilot, particularly in preview features.

Based on the screenshot you've provided from the Admin Portal, there is an option to restrict who can create Fabric Items to specific security groups. This option would help limit who can use Copilot in Fabric experiences outside of Power BI.

However, there does not appear to be a dedicated switch to specifically disable Copilot Preview across all experiences while leaving it enabled in GA (Generally Available) features within Power BI. Instead, managing Fabric Items via security groups is your best method to control access to these new AI-driven experiences across your organization for now.

You might consider limiting the Preview Copilot features by isolating Fabric capabilities like Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, and other Fabric-related workspaces to only the necessary groups, as you suggested. This should help in keeping usage within the GA experiences, like Power BI, while restricting the preview experiences elsewhere.
