Enabling Export Data (.csv) for Specific Users and Reports in Power BI Service

Hi,

I wanted to know if it’s possible to enable the ‘export data (.csv)’ functionality only for specific users and specific reports.

To simplify, let’s assume we have 4 users (User1, User2, User3, and User4) and 3 reports (ReportA, ReportB, and ReportC):

• User1 and User2 should not be able to export data from any report.
• User3 should be able to export data from ReportA but not from ReportB or ReportC.
• User4 should be able to export data from ReportB but not from ReportA or ReportC.
• Nobody should be able to export data from ReportC.

Is this level of granularity possible in Power BI Service?

Obligatory note: The only way to prevent users from exporting data from your report is to not give them access to your report.
