Enable "Permission to view the report in Power BI" within Subscriptions for a Report

Hello, I have a report that is subscribed to my end users so it sends them an email after the daily refresh everyday. However, although they have access to the report through the app, the email sent to them does not allow them to click the link to view the report. I see in the Subscription settings that there's a toggle for "Permission to view the report in Power BI" but it's been set to off and greyed out so I can't change it. What do I need to do in order to enable this feature and allow my end users to click the subscription email link to take them to the app?

I found that the issue with my question was where the subscription was created from. I created the subscription from the app originally, which didn't allow the "Permission to view the report in Power BI" toggle to be set to on. When I opened the report directly from the workspace, then this permission is allowed.

My guess as to why is is because when creating the subscription from the workspace, it's attaching a link directly to the report to the email. When the subscription is created from the app, it's a link to the entire app which creates the challenge of locking permissions down to what report the email recipients should be allowed to see.

Hi @cmajor ,

Please check if the workspace where your app is located is allocated PPU capacity, you can recognize it by looking for a diamond symbol next to the workspace name.

Best regards.

Hi  @cmajor ,

Could you please provide the detail error message when the user can't link to the report if any?

Best regards.

It wants the end user to purchase a PPU license, which only the Power BI team has. The org has pro licensing.

I am a member in the workspace, I published the dataset/report to the workspace, and I included it in the app where I set the subscription. I have a Premium Per User Power BI license.

Hi  @cmajor ,

I did a simple test it works fine with me.
I would like to know what is your role in this workspace and do you have administrative access to this dataset?
