Embedded powerapp in powerbi report is very slow to load when accessing from pbi service

Hello

I've never had this problem in the past, only this month Nov 2025. When I embedded powerapp in powerbi report it is is very slow to load when accessing from pbi service. About 15 seconds.
I do not encounter this issue when opening from the pbi desktop app.
What could be causing this issue?

The powerapp is a read/write to sharepoint list, and is a very simple and lightweight app.

Hii @noneother

This is not an issue with your app or report several users reported the same behavior starting November 2025. Power BI Service adds extra sandbox + authentication steps that do not exist in Desktop, which is why only Service shows the slowdown. But you can reduce the slowness. Optimizing OnStart logic, reducing SharePoint delegation issues, enabling Classic Player, and ensuring your app + SharePoint + Power BI are in the same region typically reduces the load time by20-30%.

So, this is now a feature and not something MS will rollback?

Hi @noneother,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. Also, thanks to @rohit1991  ,  for those inputs on this thread.

As of now, Microsoft hasn’t shared anything officially saying this is a new feature or something permanent. We’re just noticing that many users started seeing the same slow load for embedded Power Apps from November onwards.

It looks like the delay is coming from some extra security and sign-in checks that Power BI Service is doing while loading the app. These extra steps don’t happen in Desktop, so Desktop opens faster. The product team is aware of these reports, but there is no update or rollback information shared yet.

For now, you can just check if your Power App, SharePoint list and Power BI report are all in the same region, and also see if your app has any heavy logic in the OnStart section. These usually help reduce some of the load time.

Hi @v-hjannapu

I am also experiencing this issue, is there anything we can/should do to ensure this gets the attention it deserves? We have had no problems through 9 months of development, and are about to release our app to production. This extra delay will be a killer for our users and will dramatically impact their perception of the solution.

If we can at least get this recognised as a known issue, we can inform them this is definitely temporary.

Hi @noneother,

Thats an odd way of saying it was registered as a known issue, and it should be fixed now!
