Embedded map not showing correctly on webpage

I created an Azure map with markers. The map is currently showing markers in the desktop and online apps as expected. The markers used to show on the map embeded on our website but now they are missing. Any ideas on a fix for this?

This is what is in PowerBI...

This is now what is showing on our website...

  • Looks like it had to do with the ArcGIS settings. Once those were enabled in the tenet and desktop settings, everything showed up as expected again. So probably a combo of the ArcGIS and embedded settings. Thanks everyone!

  • Hi FarquharG

Could you have a look and make sure that there might not be some new Power BI embedded settings in order to enable this to be viewed correctly when embedding on another website?

Thanks! I'm not sure where to look to see if there are any new settings. I've looked in the PowerBI desktop settings and in the PowerBI app online with the embedding feature but nothing sticks out to me. Is there somewhere specific I should look, or do you think the issue would be with the website itself?

  • Hi FarquharG ,

In addition to GilbertQ  response, could you please check whether there are any new or updated Power BI embedded or tenant level settings that need to be enabled for this to display correctly when embedding the report on another website?

Thanks for your valuble response GilbertQ .

    Regards,
    Yugandhar

        Hi FarquharG ,

Thanks for checking and getting back. You wouldn’t see this in Power BI Desktop or in the report-level embed options. The setting that affects Azure Maps in embedded reports is a tenant level setting, and it’s only visible to Power BI tenant admins.

An admin would need to check

Power BI Service → Admin Portal → Tenant settings → Azure Maps

visual. If this is disabled or restricted, the map can still load, but the data points (markers) won’t render when the report is embedded.

I hope this clarifies the situation. If I’ve misunderstood any part of your setup, please let us know.

    Thank you.
