Embedded Report (Website or Portal) - link shared keeps prompting user to sign in
Hi all,
After browsing through the posts here I am already aware that when I want to share an embedded report with other users (on the same sharepoint) that the user opening the report needs to have a Power BI license themselves - this is clear to me so far.
I am running into the following problem:
I have created a dashboard on my organisation's internal sharepoint. I want to share this dashboard via a simple URL with members on that same sharepoint. I have used the "File > Embed Report > Website or Portal" function and sent the link that gets created to one of my colleagues.
When they open the link, they are asked to sign to Power Bi (as intended). Once they clicked "log in", they are asked to log in with our organisation's credentials (all fine) and once that step is completed, it takes them back a screen where it just says "learn more about Power Bi" as if they are not signed in already and when they click on it, it takes them to the Power Bi website to sign in or download (???).
The result is that nobody can open this link and simply see the dashboard except me.
Does anybody have an idea why this is the case and how do I fix this so everyone who
1) has access to the sharepoint and
2) has a power bi license
can open the dashboard?

Hi Anonymous
Are you sure you shared the right URL?, and how did you share it?

Hi aj1973
This is what I do to create the link.
I then copy the link marked in yellow and share it with people on MS teams and via email. The users (who all have a Power Bi License) then click on the link and then what happens is what I described in my original post from above - they get prompted to sign in etc. etc.
Any help with this is appreciated! Could this be a permissions issue or have anything to do with how our internal security measures are set up?

Hi Anonymous
That's what I thought 🙂 you are sharing the URL via "Website or Portal1", for that you need to give acces to different Users to the workspace (and not Myworkspace) and which I don't recommend.
What is recommended to do is to create and Publish your report to the "Apps" space and then add all users with Licenses to the App. Normally each user will receive an email with the link to the App or you can share the URL of the App as well.
