Embed Secure Power BI Reports not opening in iFrame, but in a different tab

Hi everyone,

I am evaluating the new Embed Secure functionality, which will show the report to users who have access to.

In this first release, the authentication is not integrated, so the users have to click on a Sign In button in the iFrame.

In my tests, I have not been able to load the report in the iFrame. It always opens in a different tab.

I have tested it in web apps running in my local machine and in the cloud. Both in Chrome 71.0.3578.98 and IE 11.253

Have you experienced the same issue?

Hi @luisenpons,

Based on my research, it could work on my side and the user must sign in. Could have used the second code for your report?

Has anyone noticed that they changed the URL and now it cannot be embedded at all?

I just had this same issue reported, never noticed it before in Chrome but I can reproduce in Edge.

It works for me now in Chrome. Not in Internet Explorer.

I redeployed the vagrant ubuntu machine running my laravel app where the pbi report is embedded and worked it out. I will investigate the causes of not embedding it in IE and will share the details. It looks like it is related to the app itself

Did you manage to get it work in IE 11? I am experiencing the same issue. I've embedded a Power BI report in Dynamics 365 and it works fine in Chrome but not in IE.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it work. Not a priority now, so I didn't keep on testing. Any findings are welcome. Thanks
