Are you using Fabric?
Because it is definitely the purpose of Data activator (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/real-time-intelligence/data-activator/activator-introduction)
Hi RichOB,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. I appreciate lbendlin & Cookistador for their valuable suggestions.
Yes, it is possible to set up an email alert to notify the CEO when an altercation is reported in your Power BI report after the daily refresh. The most straightforward way to achieve this is by using Power BI data alerts and Power Automate to send a customized email with details like the date, location, and individuals involved, without relying on Salesforce. For more details, please refer to the following official Microsoft documentation:
- Set data alerts in the Power BI service – Explains how to set alerts on dashboard tiles to monitor data changes.
- Integrate Power BI data alerts with Power Automate – Guides on using Power Automate to send customized emails triggered by Power BI alerts.
- Data alerts in Power BI dashboards – Provides information on configuring alerts in Power BI dashboards.
Regarding Cookistador’s suggestion, if your workspace is using Microsoft Fabric, Data Activator could be an alternative for triggering actions based on data conditions (see Introduction to Data Activator). its email notification capabilities may be limited compared to Power Automate for your specific need for customized emails.
