Editing dataset using Fabric

Hi,

I'm unsuccessfully trying to edit an existent dataset using the online service.

I tried creating a Lakehouse. It opened the Power Query Online, but I can't import/connect an existing/old dataset.

My goal is to convert the reports to the new online operation.

Any idea?

Regards,

Emanuel

Thanks for your attention, @Greg_Deckler .

We have a good number of datasets, including from our clients, in our environment, and it sounds strange to have to redefine all to start using the new fabric capabilities.

We have Premium and Pro User accounts.

@EmanuelTavares Agreed. So, quick question, what new functionality are you trying to use? Is it the Direct Lake functionality? Are your current datasets import or DirectQuery? If I can better understand what you are trying to achieve, perhaps I can figure something out.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

Hi @Greg_Deckler ,

I'd like to start using this data manipulation tool:

I understood that it is a dataflow tool, but it looks like the Power Query.

If I'm correct, we'll need to redevelop our datasets to start using this because there is no way to import what we developed using Power BI Desktop, right?

Regards,

Emanuel

@EmanuelTavares Well, not necessarily. You should be able to create a dataflow and paste in your Power Query code from what you have already developed. You can use Advanced Editor when creating your dataflow.

@EmanuelTavares Not sure you can do that. If you have Premium and therefore have an XMLA endpoint then you might be able to use an Analysis Services connector to connect to your dataset?
