Edit variables not working with SAP S4 HANA DirectQuery

Is anyone experiencing issues where Edit variables is not working with DirectQuery reports using SAP S4 HANA?  The error message returned is "We experienced an error trying to access the data gateway".  We are using SAML authentication.

Hi @JLParrish

The error message "We experienced an error trying to access the data gateway" when using DirectQuery with SAP S4 HANA may stem from issues with the Data Gateway configuration. Ensure the On-Premises Data Gateway is properly installed, running, and up-to-date. SAML authentication might not be fully compatible with DirectQuery, so confirm that it is correctly configured in both SAP HANA and the Data Gateway. Check the network settings and ensure credentials and permissions are set correctly for accessing SAP HANA. Review the gateway logs for more specific error messages, which may point to token expiration or timeouts. Make sure the SAP S4 HANA connection parameters (server, port, etc.) are correct and ensure no network/firewall issues block the connection.

Hi @JLParrish

Can you confirm that you can successfully access SAP Hana by the gateway and your ODBC connection?
