ERROR: Invalid connection references when adding a local excel file to on-premise gateway

Hey,

I created a report using a SQL-db and a local excel file. When published, I wanted to schedule daily refreshes and found that I needed to install an on-premise gateway. I chose not to install the personal one, as others in my organization need to access the data as well.

Now I neede to add the dataset to the gateway. The SQL-db was connected in 5 seconds. But now I have trouble with the local excel file.

When I try to add the file I always get the following errror: (sorry for the dutch, I have switched my language to english but this doesn't change...)

First thanks for the help!

But I can't find the E folder under "This PC". Sorry if I am a noob but where am I supposed to find it?

I only have a C drive it seems in Windows Explorer.

I have also looked to find the UNCpath of my doc but it doesn't exist it seems. Probably because it's stored on the C drive I expect?

@AntonV  - Please use the UNC / Netwrok path.  Do not use 'C' drive etc. You need to use the UNC / Netwrok path of the folder ('E' will be something like   '\\server2\Corporate\').  Go to ''This PC' > on the 'E' drive right-click > go to DFS tab. There you will find the UNC path.

Change the Data Source path in Power BI desktop and re-publish to Power BI Service.  And, now you can set up the gateway.
