ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 9.3(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server (10060)

I deployed the gateway to my computer and connected the database through MySQL ODBC 9.3.0.

In the ODBC data source settings and Power BI Desktop, the data can be refreshed normally.
I uploaded the pbix file with incremental refresh set to the Power BI service. When I refreshed the data, it issued the following error:
ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 9.3(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on '(datebse address)' (10060)

But the data set that was configured for incremental refresh half a year ago can still be refreshed successfully through the same connection channel.
Does anyone know where the problem is and how to solve it? Thanks.

Hi @Amber021

Your Power BI refresh fails with error 10060 because the gateway on your computer can't reach the MySQL server after publishing a new dataset with incremental refresh. While the old dataset works, the new one needs its gateway and credentials mapped again in Power BI Service.

To fix this:

  1. Check that the gateway is online and running.

  2. Go to Power BI Service → Dataset settings, and ensure the data source is mapped to the MySQL ODBC and credentials are valid.

  3. Make sure MySQL allows connections from your machine (check firewall and port 3306).

  4. Confirm that RangeStart and RangeEnd parameters for incremental refresh are correct and match the data.

This could help resolve the refresh error.

Hi @Amber021 I think it is not able to connect to Mysql server. Verify that the gateway is online and correctly configured for the dataset. Ensure your MySQL server's firewall allows access from Power BI Service IPs. Also, check the ODBC driver version compatibility and confirm the incremental refresh setup matches the older working configuration.

Thanks, i will try it. I have confirmed that the cloud database does not block any IP requests. The problem may be with ODBC. I plan to reinstall the ODBC connector and gateway.
