Dynamic Email Subscription not working on PPU
Over the weekend, our dynamic email subscriptions have stopped working. We use Premium per User and it's been fine for 6-8 months. When go to run them manually, it's won't let us and says we don't have premium.
Anybody experience similar issues?
Hi Anonymous
Looking at the documentation, it appears that this is only available for parbr premium or fabric capacities It might all have worked in the past, but based on documentation, this is no longer valid.

Hi Anonymous ,
Thanks for GilbertQ and StevenIrvine reply!
Anonymous StevenIrvine The Premium Per User license is a type of license based on the Pro license that provides Premium features. Premium Per User license is a kind of user-based license, which is different from capacity-based Premium license. While the PPU license provides many advanced features, it is not equivalent to a full advanced capacity license.
For dynamic email subscriptions, Premium per User and Pro licenses are not sufficient. You indeed require a Fabric Capacity or Power BI Premium Capacity.Create a dynamic subscription for a Power BI report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi Anonymous
It could be that you went to Pro license?
I do know sometimes there are some bugs in the system, where things work where they should not. But the documentation is the source of truth and that is where you need to check what can or cannot be done.

We have had exactly the same issue (we have Premium Per User). And it seems to have happened at the same time, ours stopped working on Sunday. Our Dynamic email subcriptions have been working for same period around 9 months.
The below article states:- A Power BI report saved in a workspace backed by a capacity (i.e., Power BI Premium capacity, Microsoft Fabric (Preview) trial, or Microsoft Fabric capacity).
But this article is dates January 2024 but our subcriptions have been working fine all this year until Sunday 8th September.
So do you now need Premium Capacity to use dynamic email subcriptions?
Does Premium Per user functionality not included with this?

Hi StevenIrvine
As far as I am aware, you have to look at the documentation to determine whether a feature is allowable or not. Based on the documentation you have to have premium or premium capacity in order to. Run it. Unfortunately, premium per user does not work. Even though

PPU is Premium, its worked for 9 months with no notfication of a change by Microsoft. Therefore I'm not sure anything has changed.

I find it odd that they would give access on PPU for 8/9 months and then stop it without warning, with no blog/documentation. PPU has premium storage, so logically it is still within scope of the feature.
