Dynamic Email Subcription - Stopped Working

Our Dynamic Email subcriptions have stopped working in the last week. We are getting the following error message via email:

DataDrivenSubscriptionInvalidStateError

Dynamic report subscriptions require Power BI Premium. Your subscription will be disabled

We have Premium Per User licenses. Does Premium Per User license include Premium Capacity?

The dynamic email subcriptions have been working for 9 months on the Premium Per User license but have now stopped. Have Microsoft changed conditions of the license?

Or is it an issue with our workspace/profile settings? (This is set to Premium Per User)

Hi StevenIrvine

Dynamic Subscriptions do indeed require a Fabric Capacity or Power BI Premium Capacity - Premium per User licenses are not sufficient: Create a dynamic subscription for a Power BI report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

I believe the feature has been more generally available for a period of time in order for Microsoft to obtain more feedback. It seems that period hsa unfortunately ended.

Hi,Jonvoge ,thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hello,@StevenIrvine .I am glad to help you.
I couldn't agree more with the suggestion made by Jonvoge. In fact as of now, for dynamic subscriptions on the power bi service, the required user licenses are the following:

Power BI Premium capacity
Microsoft Fabric trial
Microsoft Fabric capacity

Although the PPU license provides many advanced features, it is not equivalent to a full Premium capacity license. The PPU license allows per-user access to some of the Premium features, but some features (such as the dynamic report subscription you mentioned) still require a full Premium capacity license.
So if you need to continue to use the Dynamic Subscription features, you need to choose the appropriate capacity. Thank you for your understanding and support of Power BI.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,

Carson Jian
