Helper IVDuplicated Reports in Workspace
I have pushed lots of reports/data from test to production workspaces via deployment pipelines and now have a lot of duplicate reports/models.
This was part of a workspace cleanup because there were a lot of reports in there. In dev i moved reports into relevant folders then pushed all to test which worked fine as it created the folders and this had the reports in.
But doing the same from test to production has resulted in the new folders appearing and the reports in them, but in addition to this I have a duplicate report/model in the workspace outside the folder. If i delete one it deletes the other from the folder, they have the same URL so know it's a duplicate.
Anyone know why? and how to fix this?
So i think i have solved my own issue here. I had filtered the workspace to show reports and folders, which caused the duplicated. Was as simple as removing filters to remove the duplication.

Thank you for reaching out microsoft fabric community forum.This happens because Power BI folders are just a way to organize reports visually—they don’t change the actual report path. When you deploy from Test to Prod, if the same report already exists outside a folder, Power BI shows it both inside the folder and outside. They’re not duplicates, just different views of the same item, which is why deleting one deletes both.
To fix it:

Either manually move the reports into folders in Prod after deployment,

Or delete the old reports from Prod before deploying to ensure they land directly in the folders.
