Drop shadow themes do not populate from desktop -> service

The new drop shadow feature is great; however, if you adjust the drop shadows in a theme and apply for the desktop report, then the drop shadows are not carried over to the service. They will reflect in the desktop version but the theme is not properly accounted for in the service.

I was hoping for this to be investigated for more systematic updates for incorporating drop shadows.

Hi.

I'm also experiencing the same issue. Works perfectly in Desktop along with other many previous customization I had but do not work in the Service.

I also posted here.

Maybe because it is recent it was not fully implemented in the service.

This is important for us who create lots of Dashboards. My company has 88 Dashboards with 520+ pages updated daily and all formated with this theme.

Regarding the Documentation mentioned in the previous post, "dropShadow" is not even mentioned in the JSON for us to see how to implement it.

Thanks in advance!

Spoiler

Hi!
I went to Power BI Download site and there is a brand new version released today, July 14, 2020. I installed this version and published the Dashboard to the Service and it worked there too, the Theme with "dropShadow".

As I can see, this fixes the issue. I hope it is permanent because I manage more that 90 Dashboards updated daily in our Premium Capacity and I relly so much on themes and I need them to work as expected.

I will to more tests tomorrow to see if it will work on may other dashboards.

I hope it works for you guys too.

Hi, @ParsingPhil

I tested drop shadow with the default theme and it works properly in Power BI Service. I wonder what adjustments you have made to drop shadows in a theme and if you import a custom report theme file. About report themes, you may refer to the document .  Do pay attention to the considerations and limitations.

Best Regards

Allan

I have the same problem, created an issue here https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Drop-shadow-not-visible-on-Power-BI-Service/idc-p/1182855#M5...

I tried Google Chrome, the new Edge and Brave browsers.
