Downloading Data/Reports automatically
Hey everyone!
I'm currently building a Report wich is going to be published. The data for this report will be automatically updated by overwriting the old data in Excel. Therefore the data and results in the report are going to be updated but the old informations get "lost". Is there a way to download or save the old data an report automatically anyhow?
I need to have an overview over the last weeks as well as the updated version.
And maybe there is a possibility to combine it in one file?

Using power automate you can configure an auto-backup of your Excel file minutes before the new data update, otherwise I would suggest keep all data in excel because soon or later you would like to visualize it over time.
Since you mentioned the need of getting data from last weeks as well as the updated version, by keeping all data uploaeded, through Power Query you will be able to filter a range using parameters, I invite you to check this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/incremental-refresh-configure

one more question to the incremental refresh: Do i need to keep the old data in the file? Because there is an automatic download of Data from SAP to an Excel file three times a day. The data contains informations for the last 7 days. This automatic download overwrites the old file, so when i normally refresh, it is only the new data.

You can use the Backup and Restore feature with Power BI datasets if you have a Power BI Premium or Premium Per User (PPU) license. Yet it's not supported downloading automatically. Check the document for more details.
