Does the gateway server need to be on the same domain as an excel file datasource ?

We are going to install a on premise gateway on a computer (VM) in our environment so that escel files on a network share can be used as a datasource.

The excel files live on active directory domain1. This is the main domain where users work and store files on a network share.

For security reasons, we wolud like to intall the gateway on domain2 - this is a services type domain.

Once installed, the gateway windows service would be changed to run as a domain2 service account.

Will we then be able to create an excel data source to access the excel spreadsheet in domain1 ?

Hi @gregboothdelt 

As long as you can access the share from the Gateway server, and you use the same sharename and path it will be able to work with the Gateway.
