Does Dataflow Gen2 Require an "Enhanced" Fabric Capacity License?

When attempting to create a new Dataflow Gen2 flow, I am getting the following message:

Upgrade to a paid Microsoft Fabric capacity

To work with Dataflow Gen2, this workspace needs to use a Fabric enhanced capacity.
You can purchase a Fabric capacity on the Azure portal using your Azure subscription.

We currently have the Workspace's capacity set to a Paid Fabric Capacity(F2).

Is the key word above "Enhanced"?

I have scoured all the Fabric and Power BI licensing pages and have found nothing that indicates utilizing a Dataflow Gen2 flow requires a $4,995 per month license.

Can anyone confirm this is the case?

Thank you.

I ended up contacting Microsoft and found that Gen 2 Dataflows CAN be run on an F2 SKU.

In our case it boiled down to different Regions apparently have different levels of support for Fabric.

We originally had our Region defined as "Central US", same as everything else in our Tenant. It seems that "Central US" only supports "some" Fabric capabilities but not all. One of the missing capabilities appears to be support for Gen 2 Dataflows.

We relocated our Fabric region to "North Central US" and we were then able to create Gen 2 Dataflows.

Hope this helps.

Don't believe it's necessary with a SKU that expensive, found this post that explains how to change a setting in the admin-portal, since I experienced a similar issue: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/trying-to-work-with-a-workspace-and-pai...

Yes, requires F64/P1 SKU or higher.

Is this still the case? I cant find it in any official documentation. It wont run on a F2?

I know they lifted the restrictions for CoPilot workloads (which can now be consumed down to F2) but am not aware of a similar decision for DF Gen2.

Hello Fabric Community

I went to admin portal and in Fabric Capacity I have Capicty SKU F2 which I cant even add New Item like Notebook, So I went to Delegated tenant Setting. I added security group and still cant add items. I did not want to increase capacity if I dont have to. I was testing capabilities.
