Direct Query occupates multiple user sessions on Dynamics NAV database

Hello,

We have two direct query reports set up that make a SQL Server Connection to a Microsoft Dynamics NAV database. Both reports are running on a tv screen in office and are refreshed every few minutes.

We are now getting complaints that users cannot log into NAV because the max user sessions has been reached. When checking the active users list we can see that the windows user applied in the direct query connection takes up multiple connections. it varies but it is always somewhere between 4 to 8 sessions occupied by the same user.

Of the two PBI reports mentioned, one report only has one Query to the NAV database. The other has 7 seperate queries (7 different SQL Select queries to 7 different tables that have little to no relation with each other)

Does the direct query make a seperate user session for each query, or is something else causing this?? And is it possible to prevent multiple of the same user sessions while maintaining direct query?

Some help on this issue would be much appreciated.
