Direct Query not up to date when opening report in Power Bi Service

 Hey,

I have a report published in Power BI service that uses direct query, as near real-time information are needed in this case.

The source is a database from Azure Data Explorer.

When I open the report the information visible are not uptodate but I first have to click on refresh. Is there a way, to always refresh when the report is accessed?

Or change settings of the direct query so that automatically always the current data is visible without needing refresh?

Greetings

Katharina

  • Hi. If you have the report openned all the time you have to click on refresh or program a page refresh. Direct query works but browser won't change untill you refresh it. This won't be a problem if you open the browser for the first time.

Anyway you can configure a page refresh in order to have all in order. Check this doc about it:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-automatic-page-refresh

NOTE: it only work with direct query. Just to keep in mind in case you want to use it again.
