Direct Lake Error: You don't have permission to view the content of Direct Lake table

Hi

 

I am recieving the below error, it is the same issue as in post Solved: Error using direct lake: don't have permission to ... - Microsoft Fabric Community.  For some reason this issue is marked as solved when it is not.

If you did not have read permissions on the lakehouse or you didn't create the semantic model, have the owner change the cloud connection to use fixed identity (see below):

Thanks for this, however this doesn't really feel like a solution, more of a work around.  If I do this, I assume row level security will not work?

It should work if RLS is configured in the model.

On the DirectLake semantic model, how is the cloud connection configured?  Is it SSO (see picture)?
