Different users with different credentials

I am trying to figure out the best way to set up a situation where multiple administrative users can manually add new data to a data model and refresh reports on the power-BI Service.

In our current situation, my team is having to manually "take-over" with his/her user account, and update reports on the Service when another user has published it. Currently multiple users can edit the report on the Desktop version then publish it. The problem is, each user has different data source credentials when we set up the hourly update. And only that repsonsible user can fix these source data credentials. When another user, User2 per say, tries to take over, and update the reports on the Sevice, the source credentials are not the same as user1.

So, what is the most practical set up for such situation?

My suggestion was, which I am not sure is the best, to create a common user, which all other users can use on Desktop version, and publish reports from this common user. All users can also update reports with this common user on the service.

Hi, @Anonymous

Currently, the owner of the data set under the gateway is unique, and only that owner can change the data source credentials. So each time a new user takes over the data source, the credentials of the data source need to be reconfigured.

If your data source needs to configure a gateway and add datasourece crendentials in the gateway ,you can consider adding these users as administrators of your gateway, so that they can also see and use the configured data sources under your gateway without using their own credentials.
