Different Visuals between Power BI Service and SharePoint Embedded

Morning all

I currently have a situation whereby a report I've developed within Desktop appears as it should; upload this to the Power BI Service (Cloud) and it too displays correctly. However I then proceed to create a SharePoint Embed code; embedding this into a SharePoint Online site and the report displays differently (filters not being applied)

Any ideas as to what could possibly be causing this; can't understand why it works between Desktop and Service although changes when viewing the embedded report?

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I managed to resolve - having simply created a duplicate page; uploaded to Powerbi Service and this resolved the issue. No further changes to code/filters, etc. other than simply redoing the page.

Thank you for your help on the issue.

Hi @diederd

When I view one of my pages it is working as expected.

Did you ensure when configuring the Web Part to enable the Show Filter Pane?

Thank you for your reply; having tried that I'm afraid no change. I'm able to manually change the filters; however am wishing to have these applied without the user having to tweak the views.

What I find strange is that it works within the Service environment (as expected), only when uploaded to SharePoint Online does it not retain the preconfigured filters.

Hi there,

Can you please explain to me what you mean by "uploaded to SharePoint"?

Apologies - perhaps "uploaded" is the wrong terminolgy to be using. All that is meant is when embedding into SharePoint Online via the PowerBI Webpart.

Hopefully that is a better explaination.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not sure why that is happening. For me it shows the report in the saved state when it was uploaded to the Power BI service

Thanks GilbertQ

Can't figure out either as to what this is happening! Everything appears to be working as it should; until you try embedding within SharePoint Online.

Is there any other avenues I can look into whilst trying to troubleshoot further?

Awesome. Glad you got it working
