Developing Reports on the Service
I have some questions about Developing Reports in the Power BI Service...
Basically we have some users that have MAC computers and as such they can't run the PB Desktop tool so they are limited to developing in the PB Service. Creating the report is fine... but "managing" the report going forward is a challenge...
Looking for advice for the following..
1) How can we manage "versions" of the report that is developed on the Service... If a developer breaks the report and has to drop back how can they do that?
Working on the PC via the Desktop Tool, we manage versions by utilizing OneDrive as the cloud storage .. and synching to the PC. Thus if we ahve to drop back we restore a previous version from OneDrive..
2) Can the team within the Workspace Listing of REports see who has last changed/edited the report... Currently you have to open the report to see who edited it..
3) I tried to download a report that was created on the service but the download button was greyed out???
I created a test report within a workspace.. The report used a published dataset on the Service already.. I then saved it and closed it. when I went back to the report I wanted to download the PBIX file.. but the option was greyed out...

1.In my opinion, the only way to do this is publish the previously backed up version.
2.With Power BI audit log, you are able to audit activities like DeleteReport, ExportReport,PrintReport, DeleteDataset and so on. For more details, please review this article: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-auditing/ .
3.According to the description on the official website，there are a few important considerations and limitations associated with downloading a .pbix file from the Power BI service.
- To download the file, you must have edit access to the report.
- The report must have been created by using Power BI Desktop and published to the Power BI service, or the .pbix file must have been uploaded to the Power BI service.
- Reports must be published or updated after November 23, 2016. Reports published earlier aren't downloadable.
- This feature won't work with reports and content packs originally created in the Power BI service, unless the report was created through the quick create experience.
- Always use the latest version of Power BI Desktop when you open downloaded files. Downloaded .pbix files might not open in non-current versions of Power BI Desktop. For example, you cannot open downloaded .pbix files using a Desktop version that does not support information protection.
- If your administrator has turned off the ability to download data, this feature won't be visible in the Power BI service.
- Datasets with incremental refresh can't be downloaded to a .pbix file.
- Datasets enabled for large models can't be downloaded to a .pbix file.
- Live connect reports can't be downloaded to a .pbix file.
- Downloading a .pbix file after deployment isn't supported as part of the deployment pipeline (ALM).
- Usage metric reports can't be downloaded to a .pbix file
- Datasets modified by using the XMLA endpoint can't be downloaded to a .pbix file.
- If you create a Power BI report based on a dataset in one workspace and publish to a different workspace, you and your users won't be able to download it. The download feature is currently not supported in this scenario.

Please find the answers below
1. Unless you are using a Windows PC where you can run and install PBI Desktop and then use OneDrive. That is the only way to get it done currently.
2. That is the only way to see it so far.
3. All reports created in the PBI Service cannot be downloaded, this is once again by design.
