Desktop Decimal Format Overwritten by Service Locale

Hi all,

I have a report on the PBI Desktop version with thousands and decimal format in the DE locale (1.000,23€), which I want to keep when publishing. Automatically then the published dashboard version switches to EN/US locale (1,000.23€). My question is how can I change that, maybe on a workspace level, without affecting the locale on the whole Power BI Service environment? The reason behind this specific request is that I have other dashboards published, which I need to keep in the EN/US locale, and the latter thousand/decimal format.

Thank you in advance for your time and support. Let me know if I clarify some points.

Best,
Ioannis

Hi. By default Power Bi Service will change decimals and thousands separators matching the language of the browser. It will change for each user depending on the browser.

I'm not sure if you can change that. There is a configuration at dataset settings when checking schedule refresh. There are tabs at the top. Change the "Dataset" tab selected for "General". In there you will see a Language option. If that one doesn't change, then I don't think you can.

I hope that helps,

Thank you @ibarrau for your answer. Indeed, there is no way to change the locale only for the case I described.
