Designing Reports with Multiple Fact Tables

Greetings.

A client wants to have multiple reports that use different fact tables. They would like to go into a single spot and click on different pages. Some pages use different fact tables. For example, they may want a page with invoice data, another page with order data, another page with production data, etc.

The data model is quite complex right now because of all of the various dimensions and fact tables. I would love to have a PBIX with only invoice data, another one with only order data, etc. However, They would rather not close a report and open another one.

I'm not familiar with Power BI apps and I'm wondering if those provide a way to combine multiple reports to provide a smooth user experience.

Thank you

Hi @callenbkd ,

Yes, apps are a great way to combine multiple reports. There are 2 type of apps, workspace apps and org apps.

Here is more information about each of them:

As long as your fact tables are controlled by common dimension tables you should be fine.  Your slicers and filters need to always come from the dimension tables.  Do not join fact tables to each other.
