Since September when new UI for deployment pipeline has been introduced, we have issues with setting parameter rules.
In pbix file i define parameter "Environment" and it has list of values: "PROD" and "DEV".
When i publish it to stage workspace i publish it with "DEV" selection. Then i deploy it to prod workspace, where i want to change parameter rule to "PROD".
However, it doesn't give this option at all. I can see only "DEV" and "Other".
I can select "Other" and then write "PROD", but for me this seems as a bug. I already have ticket created by Microsoft, a month ago, still no meaningful response.
Notes:
1) it has impact on all new deployment pipelines. On old i can see both "DEV" and "PROD". However, even on old, if i deselect "PROD", it disappears from the list
2) there were no changes from our side (on dataset or parameters)
3) i tested it on multiple tenants via different users and always same results
4) it behaves the same on old and new UI for deployment pipeline

Is there anyone else seeing this issue?

Solved! Go to Solution.
I always select "Other" and then enter in the parameter name in the text box. We generally have a few different parameters in our models, depending on the source, and deploy through four different workspace environments.

Interesting, I thought it always worked this way, even in the legacy pipeline experience. I've never been able to select from a list of values defined in desktop when in the service. I've always had to manually specify the rule value. Maybe I was doing it wrong all these years.
@blopez11 , here is example how it was working earlier on my tenant:
It was providing parameters from list + Other option.
I thought this is a bug with new user interface to show only default value, but it seems it is actually a feature 🙂
Thank you for your answers @lgambino and @blopez11
