Deployment icon next to workspace name

Hi Friends,

Recently i noticed that we are seeing a deployment icon next to the workspace name with different label for each workspace. Its inconsistent and only certain workspace show this. See the sample image below:

Does anyone know what this icon/lable refer to? i checked the deployment pipelines tab and there is nothing configured on that.

Any insight is helpful

Hi @Ira_27 That icon means the report is part of a deployment pipeline and is added as the workspace for the Test step.

If you don't have permission to the deployment pipeline, you will need to ask your Power BI Admin to either add you as an admin or get the list of admins.

They can run the Rest APIs for this:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/pipelines-get-pipelines-as-admin

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/pipelines-get-pipeline-users-as-admin

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/pipelines-update-user-as-admin

Hi @Ira_27

This means that there is a deployment pipeline configured for this workspace. You may not have permissions to see the deployment pipeline which is why you can't find it, however this icon confirms that there is a deployment pipeline in place.

Hi, The Deployment pipeline can be configured by the Power BI admin team. When they created the workspace, they might have linked the Dev, Test, Production workspaces. Hence, different workspaces will have different levels based on your organization's standards.

In the workspace, at top, beside Create App options, there should be an option View Deployment Pipeline. You should be able to check from there also.

Hope this helps. If it does, then please mark it as solution, thanks - Samrat
