Delay post publishing report in Service
Hi All
When I am publishing report from PBI Desktop to Service the report is getting published but it is taking time to refresh the changes made. Why is that delay and what is the root cause and how can we resolve?
Hii SowmyaTupakula
Power BI Service always takes a few seconds to re-compile the model, re-cache visuals, and update the dataset after a publish.
Desktop updates instantly because everything is local, but Service must process the new PBIX, rebuild the semantic model, and refresh the report cache. The speed depends on model size, number of visuals, and workspace load. There is no setting to remove this delay it is expected behavior. Only way to reduce it is to optimize the dataset size and visuals.
Let's try and use the right terminology. There is no report cache. There's a query cache.

Note that not all semantic model refreshes cause a query cache recalculation.

How do we refresh the report cache?

Hii SowmyaTupakula
You don’t refresh it manually Power BI Service always refreshes the cache automatically after every publish.
