DateTime in Published Report shows as UTC

Hello all,

I recently noticed an issue with some published PowerBI Reports in various workspaces not showing the correct times. It seems to be happening with reports that have CDS as the data source.

The PowerBI Report shows DateTime data in my local time (MDT) on the desktop version of PowerBI and note the "Last Date Refresh" Card showing the local time - I only use the Now() formula.

Once I publish the PowerBI Report to a workspace, the report will still show the correct timestamps with the local time. But if I refresh the dataset from the workspace, all the times get updated to UTC:

How can I solve this issue? It seems to happen only with CDS data when refreshing a published report from the workspace.

Thank you.

Hi there

This is because all the Power BI Servers have their datetime set to UTC. So when using DAX functions that use NOW() for example it will always be in UTC

This blog post explains this as well as how to get it working for your timezone: https://www.fourmoo.com/2017/10/03/power-bi-did-you-know-all-power-bi-services-servers-are-in-utc-no...

@amitchandak My organization doesn't use Help Shift and we don't have those settings so that link is not helpful. Any other suggestions?
