Date format with live model connection

I am using Azure Analysis Services to connect to my data, so it is a live connection. Therefore adding measures/dax/editing the data is not possible.

In PowerBI desktop, my dates are formatted correctly as dd/mm/yyy.

When published however, the dates change to mm/dd/yyyy.

I have all the correct settings - Including 'Use Windows default display language'. My browser and laptop language are all English UK, so I'm really unsure why the dates are still in the American format.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there,

I am going to blog about this soon but here are the steps I used

1. Click on the Windows Key and search for Language Settings
a.
2. By default, this was set to English (United States)
a.
3. To add a new language, I then clicked on “Add a preferred language”
a.
4. I then searched for Australia and
a.
5. I then clicked Next
6. On the features page I selected all the options (Specifically “Set as my display language”)
a.
7. And then clicked Install
a.
b. I could then see it being installed
c.
8. Once it was installed, I was then prompted that in order for the settings to take place I would have to sign out and sign back in
a.
9. After logging out and back in again I went back to my language settings and I could see that it was now displaying “English (Australia)”
a.

Thank you for your comments.

Unfortunately I have done all this - my system is set to English UK as is my browser yet I still get american dates.
