Date Picker Custom Dates and Date Slicer does not overrid custom selection without a reset/clear btn

Good day,

Last month, i battled to have a Range Slicer control the datepicker Slicer,

Range slcier would filter the date picker Slicer but date picker custom dates was within the boundaries of the Range Slicer filtered dates only, okay when Range = YTD but not okay day/week/month.

1. Basically the Range slicer was to only default the selection but still allowing the date picker to override the selection

2. Range Sclicer has a custom range and when date picker selects dates the other range options (ytd/month/day) will not work/override the custom date picker selections.

I never found a work around as i cant have a clear slicer button using bookmarks etc, senior says it makes the scorecard less practical as i have a date picker per KPI

Please any ideas, links

Regarding your question, you can control the influence between the slicers by editing the interactions, select any previous article and click on 'Format' to find the interaction options, with reasonable settings you can realize the range slicer as the default selection, the date selection slicer is still free to select the date.

1. the range slicer filters both slicers, should i disable the picker slicer interaction with range slicer

but when i do, the range slicer does not overide the picker slicer value?

2. When range slicer filters /interaction the picker slicer, the dates available for custom selection are limited to the range slicer selection, it should only soft default the selection but still able to change the dates range

it only works when the range picker has a long range ytd but when month/day/week then its limited

Please any help, where my DateRangeSlicer only defaults the selection within DatePickerSlicer but Allows for DatePickerSlicer to custom select dates outside of the default selected specified by DateRangeSlicer

I have a timeseries with custom, but senior does not want the custom button to be selected to enable custom date ranges and that the butoon slicers should be able to be overwritten by date picker custom selection
