Datasource not unique per dataset
TBardien - I believe you are correct on this. The reason is that Power BI stores a data connection entity under the hood that stores the credentials. I would recommend using a DNS alias or IP address for your second connection. Power BI should see that as a separate connection.
Was this changed recently. Because It does not seem it did this before.
I had 2 reports with 2 different datasets with identical server and db, and could use different credentials for the datasources of the 2 datasets effectively.
This problem seems to have been introduced recently.
