Datasource connection in powerbi service with rest api
Requirement:
Create a dataset in powerbi service for a particular datasource like mysql, mssql, snowflake, etc, just like it is provided from powerbi desktop. We dont want to use powerbi desktop and directly want to use the online version for data source connection part.
Like we give data source connection details in request body and it creates a dataset out of that in powerbi service.
Is there any rest api or way to do so?

Hi. Unless you create a previous process that gets data from the API and stores it in an Azure DB or something like that, you won't be able to get data from API with "Just Service". You need Power Bi Desktop for this even if you take the data with dataflows. Later you need desktop again.
I would strongly suggest that your main data models are built with desktop because you can store them in a control version technology.
