Datasets Failed to refresh

Hi,

A PowerBI dataset I have failed to refresh.  I wonder why.

The data gateways itself is running good.

I created another report getting data from the same data source and it runs OK.

Any idea on how to fix it?

#DB1# and #DB2# are the names of my databases I am connecting to.

Last refresh failed: Sat Mar 21 2020 09:25:06 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)
There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.Hide details

  • After a few support ticket calls, the solution is found!

In Power BI Web, Set the Privacy Level setting for all my data sources to "Public" and then the Scheduled Refresh worked!

So, on this screen, scroll to the bottom,

expand Advanced Settings, and Set the Privacy Level setting for all my data sources to "Public" and then the Scheduled Refresh worked!

Hope this helps everyone who has this problem!

Not a ton to go on except that it appears it is having trouble with this table or view ER_CURRENT_INCIDENT_REPORT_V combining it with some other data. Perhaps there is a Merge or Append that is causing it trouble. Not a ton to go on, I would recommend a support ticket.

You could check the Issues forum here:

    https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

  • I opened a support ticket about it.

The Microsoft contractors were looking at permission setting of my different data sources in my Data Gateway, but I think it is not the cause of the error as the Power BI Desktop still can update without any problem.  When I published from Power BI Desktop to Power BI Service, the data is all current.   ut, if I were to refresh in Power BI service, the error occurred.

Also, I published the same dataset from Power BI Desktop to Power BI Service without the "Merge tables".  Then, Power BI service can refresh without problems.

Thus, it seemed to me that the "merge tables" function is causing the failure.

I suspect this is caused by some backend stuffs, which may take the next update to fix.

I guess my temporary solution is manual publishing of the Power BI Desktop to Power BI Service.

    Hi, dc7669

I have exactly the same error while trying to access the data from online sources.
Sometimes it runs fine, other times it gives the same error.
