Dataset refresh, triggered by API, is occurring twice in a row!

I have a couple of datasets in Premium Capacity that are refreshed once every hour. The refresh is triggered by the API. 

Since approximately the morning of June 27th (Pacific time), every time I trigger the refresh with the API, the dataset refreshes twice, consecutively. See the attached. You can see one refresh starts; then finishes; then a second refresh is triggered right after it finishes. When I trigger a dataset refresh manually, in app.powerbi.com, this does not occur. It just refreshes once.

I have been refreshing the datasets using the API for months, and this has never happened before. I checked the code I use to call the API; it has not changed. It is not calling the API twice.

What is going on? Anyone else experience this? Any way to solve it?

I have already tried overwriting the dataset .pbix with a new version. I though this might "reset" something. But this did not solve it. The issues is still occurring. Please help! It's causing issues for my organization.
