Dataset refresh has stopped working with different errors each time I try to refresh

Hi all,

On Friday I relased a new version of my data set and Saturday and Sunday it refreshed correctly. But it failed on Monday morning, my dataset connects to an Azure Function Proxy.  I can still refresh my dataset on desktop but fails once it is published.

Most times I get this error with different table:

The command has been canceled. Table: XXXX

Has anything changed that I need to be aware?

Can you post the error messages here? You can mask the confidential parts. I just need these IDs and the error details. Please post the latest error messages.

Today I got a different error, on my chages I added a List.Contains from a biffered List:

Hi @cecyarmida,

1. Did you use the Data Gateway (personal mode)? I would suggest you try the Data Gateway (the other one).

2. What does the table JOB look like? Is it a normal table from a data source?

3. I also found many error messages like "the gateway is unreachable". Please check out.

Hi Dale,

I am not using a data gateway, I am only connecting to an Azure Functions Proxy that connects to WorkflowMax API:

At the point I wrote the blog everything was working fine, then I added the following changes to my data set:

1. I have a base data set that gets all the data from WorkflowMax/Proxy, so I created a new table based on this data set to get territory.

2. Then on the Job table I am doing a filtering on a column by using List.Contains from a Buffered List (To validate is an existing territory).  I basically load the territories on a buffered list to do the comparison, the territory list is not to big it has like 15 fields

So I don't know where the gateway error is coming from.

Can you refresh it successfully in the Desktop? Can you share the Power Query code? Please mask the sensitive parts first.

Hi Dale,

After installing the new version of Power Bi Desktop it started to fail on my local machine as well.  Now I can't even refresh it with out my laptop crashing.  I reinstall my office to a 64b, and still the same.  Can I send you the Frown file to any email? I don't want to publish all my code here.

Hi Dale,

After I trying many different things, I installed a previous version(April) of Power BI Desktop and refreshed my dataset and everything worked fine.  But still, once I publish it to the Power Bi service it fails, I have spent so much time on this, so I think I am just goint to wait for the next version, hopefully this issue will be fixed.

Looks like there may be a human intervention for canceling it at the data source end or the query may reach a threshold determined by the source system admin, that leads to auto-cancellation. Please check the scheduled refresh history.
