Dataset not following dataflow refresh

Dear all,

 

i have a dataflow updating regularly from the web (incoming CSV file i) and a dataset linked to it. Altough the update is succesful on both, i can see the new incoming data only in the dataflow. In the dataset it takes many hours (8-10) until the changes are reflected.

Any support appreciated.

    Hi there

    You have to make sure that you first schedule your dataflow to refresh and only once that is done to the schedule the refresh for your dataset.

    For example I would refresh my dataflow daily at 6AM and then at 6.30AM I would schedule my dataset refresh.

      thanks for the answer. Yes this makes sense - actually i have set up the connection like you suggest from the beginning.

    Hi Anonymous ,

    While connecting Power BI Dataflow into Desktop, it is live connection mode. So, in theory, it is as fast as in Service. But in fact, we may need to wait for a few seconds or minutes. It depends on the report itself. You could reference the blog to optimize the performance of dataflow.

      Hi v-yingjl 

       

      thanks for the answer. I have set up my connection as described in the blog - except I-m not using a gateway but a web source.

      Now i am ta 13 hours that the data have not been refreshed in the dataset. Dataflow looks good though!

      I noticed that if i edit the Dataflow and save and refresh then the dataset is updated - but then it is a manual process...
