I changed "Data Source" in desktop application and publish report to online workspace. I get "Success" message but dataset in online workspace didn't change. There is an error:
"Scheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh."
I know there are "missing credentials" because data source are wrong (were set to local computer of one user) and they were not changed after publishing.
Do you know why "Data Source" in online dataset don't change even thought publishing was "Success"?
Hi @Jacek76
Some times changing the data source in your Power Bi Desktop is a headache. How did you do it? Make sure through Power Query that all your tables have changed the source. Also, you might want to check the Gateway.

I changed data sources manualy in File/Option and Settings/Data Source Settings
Then I made 'Refresh' and successfully updated all data. Then I "Publish", got message "Success" but dataset in online workspace didn't change.
But when I rename .pbx file on my computer and then publish it in the same workspace but under different name then everything works ok. Unfortunately I have to update original dataset under original name because 3 different reports are based on this dataset.
You can just delete the dataset from the workspace and republish the report at the same workspace without changing its name, it will work. However the embed code will change and will have to generate a new one.

And what about reports that were created using this dataset? Will they still work after deleting it and publish it again? if the embed code changes?
No, once you delete the dataset from the workspace, all reports that are attached to the dataset will be deleted automatically as well. The embed code will change as you will have to generate a new code.
My suggestion is you keep on digging to find where it didn't work with your original dataset until you find the source. I am sure it is there somewhere, I have been through the same issue and manualy I got it fixed.
Be patient

So I can't delete the dataset and publish it again 😞
Strange thing is that even Microsoft support can't find the solution 😞
Sorry but Microsoft can't find solution to what?
