Dataset Refresh is failing on Power BI Service

Hi PBI Community,

 

These days I'm facing a strange issue. On refreshing the dataset on Power BI Service it shows COMPLETED in the refresh history but on expanding for more details, it says several queries failed.

 

Let's say for the highlighted one when we see details -

On cliecking on error details -


Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi gaurav-lakhotia ,

    Your error problem is The operation was throttled by the Power BI Premium because of insufficient memory , indicating that your report in power bi occupies a large amount of memory resulting in a failure when the data is refreshed , you can check whether the report has a large number of references to the calculated columns, or to see what other large memory-consuming behavior, you can use the DAX studio to check it.

    Remember when doing a refresh if you are refreshing the entire dataset you need the same amount of memory for the refresh.

    For example if your dataset is using 1.8GB of memory and you want to refresh the entire dataset it will need an additional 1.8GB of memory. This means you need 3.6GB of memory.
