Hello, would like to see if there is a plan to roll out Datamarts to GA?  Finding alot of value add in this feature and would like to know if this will be around for the forseeable future?

    Hi Frank101 ,
Datamarts in Power BI, currently in Preview, have been generating a lot of interest due to their self-service data modeling capabilities and the ability to combine data prep, storage, and reporting within a single experience. Microsoft has not yet announced an official General Availability (GA) date, but given the continued investment in the feature and positive feedback from the community, it's likely that Datamarts will remain a core part of the Power BI ecosystem.

The Preview stage allows Microsoft to fine-tune performance, governance, and usability based on real-world usage, so it’s a good sign that you’re already finding value in it. While timelines are still tentative, the feature is expected to stay and evolve, especially as part of Microsoft’s broader push toward low-code, integrated data solutions within the Power Platform.

    Hi Frank101

Datamarts in Power BI have been in public preview for some time, and while Microsoft has not yet officially announced a specific general availability (GA) date, there are strong indications that Datamarts are being actively developed and positioned as a long-term strategic component within the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI ecosystem. Microsoft continues to add enhancements, improve performance, and expand integration capabilities—particularly around SQL querying, direct T-SQL access, and smoother integration with Power BI datasets and reports. The fact that Datamarts are included in Power BI Premium and Premium Per User (PPU) licenses suggests a significant investment in making them production-ready and enterprise-friendly. While it’s always wise to avoid depending entirely on preview features for critical production use, the direction and attention Datamarts are receiving strongly suggest they will remain part of the platform and likely move to GA in the foreseeable future. For the most up-to-date roadmap, you can monitor the Microsoft Power BI blog, the Fabric Roadmap, or submit feedback and monitor updates through the Power BI Ideas portal.
