Dataflow overcome limitation on Power BI Datasets ?

Hi ,


We all know Power BI Dataset has limitations primarily on unable to bring in an additional dataset onto the mix with the Power BI shared dataset on desktop.


Instead if Power BI Dataflow is selected on PBI Desktop , could the user bring in the additional datasets on PBI desktop  from other sources to mix it up with the Power BI Dataflow datasets ?

    Hi curiouspbix0 ,

    Based on my test, you can connect to the dataflow in the desktop and combine it with other query from other data source from query editor. But you really cannot connect to other datasets, connecting to dataset is a kind of LC, so that’s why user cannot do that. or you will encounter an error:
